The Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen is an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art and it features the the exceptional “Frankfurt Kitchen” that was built by Grete Schütte-Lihotzky during the 1920’s. This new approach to functional design focused on the comfort and efficiency of the average person’s kitchen. The earlier kitchens were hidden in the basement and this new approach incorporates technology, power sources and new materials. The exhibition will open from Sept. 15, 2010 to March 21, 201
