Bespoke is the Decor service for clients who apply the same standards to their living environment as they do to their art collection. Every piece is evaluated for secondary market value, craft lineage, and whether it represents genuine making by an artisan whose work will outlast the decade it was specified in. No piece in a Bespoke program should be reproducible by another client working with another designer.

Bespoke extends Curation into the territory of commission and collection. Where Curation sources from the existing market, Bespoke brings pieces into existence that did not previously exist — or acquires pieces from the estate and auction market that cannot be sourced new.

The Process

Sourcing Playbook

  • International: We source directly from European ateliers and showrooms that don't have US distribution — Paris décorateurs on the Left Bank, Milan furniture houses, Brussels antique dealers, London silversmiths. Access requires relationships built over years, not a trade card.
  • Commissioned: For clients whose residence requires something that doesn't exist anywhere in the market, we commission it. This means working directly with artists, sculptors, furniture designers, and craftspeople to produce a piece conceived specifically for the space and the client.
  • Estate Pre-sale: Pre-market access to collections before public auction. We maintain relationships with estate attorneys, family advisors, and auction house specialists that allow us to present pieces to clients before they appear in catalogs.
  • Ongoing: The Bespoke program doesn't end at installation. We continue to steward the collection — advising on new acquisitions, proposing edits, tracking pieces that should be considered for the collection, and managing the relationship between the home and the objects in it over time.
  • What Differentiates: The difference between Signature and Bespoke is not spending more on the same sources. It is access to sources that don't exist in the standard trade market, and the commitment to commission what cannot be found.

Strategic Brief
3–4 weeks
Extended brief development including investment philosophy, provenance preferences, cultural references, legacy intentions. This is a significantly deeper conversation than standard decoration briefing.
Research and Sourcing
8–16 weeks
International sourcing trips and remote sourcing. Estate and pre-sale review. Commissioned piece development including artist and craftsperson selection, concept development, contract.
Presentation and Approval
2–4 weeks
Curated presentation of all proposed pieces with provenance, condition, and placement rationale. Client review and selection. Confirmation of commissioned work.
Production and Procurement
6–18 weeks
Commissioned pieces in production. Purchased pieces in transit. International logistics managed including customs, insurance, and condition reporting.
Installation and Collection Launch

White-glove installation. Art hanging. Final placement and styling. Collection documentation.

A client commissioning a permanent home — typically a $3M+ property — where the objects in the space are understood as part of the long-term investment in the residence. Clients who understand the difference between buying furniture and building a collection.

Not A Fit If

If the timeline is under six months, Signature Decoration is the appropriate program. Bespoke is not faster with more budget — it is fundamentally different in nature.

Tier Evolution

Bespoke Decoration clients most often also engage us for Home Renovation or Home Remodeling on the same property, since the build quality of the space must match the collection quality.

Most common in Park Avenue pre-war co-ops, large Tribeca lofts, and West Village townhouses where the build character warrants objects of equivalent depth. Also active in new construction at 220 Central Park South and comparable Billionaires' Row buildings.
